Part-time Faculty Opportunities

DePaul University is seeking expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part-time Faculty to instruct courses across various disciplines in all 10 colleges and schools. Interested individuals may submit their credentials for any posting for which they are qualified. Listings are organized by college/school and department. The screening of candidates in the pool is ongoing, based on curricular needs and funding availability. Departments will reach out to individuals if they advance to the finalist stage for teaching specific courses. The pool will remain active until the specified closing date; those wishing to stay in the pool beyond that date must reapply. All individuals in the pool will receive email notifications when the posting is closed.

Responsibilities:

The Art School, part of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at DePaul University, invites expressions of interest for part-time faculty teaching for the upcoming academic term. Part-time teaching opportunities vary each quarter throughout the academic year. Applicants whose expertise aligns with course scheduling needs will be contacted for interviews. The School will collaborate with selected individuals to establish their teaching schedules. While courses are not guaranteed, the School strives to provide timely notice regarding available classes or potential cancellations. The faculty and staff at The Art School are committed to fostering inclusion and equity of opportunity for all faculty, staff, and students, aiming to cultivate a culture of inclusivity and respect for diversity.

Required Qualifications:

- A cover letter detailing teaching experience and interests.

- A current CV, MFA in Art, or a related field.

- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience is required, which may include an instructor of record position during graduate studies.

- Experience teaching at a university or liberal arts college is preferred.

- Examples of personal artwork and student work, if available (which can be provided via a website).

- A list of three professional references.

- Two examples of syllabi and corresponding student evaluations.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

The applicant's schedule must be adaptable to accommodate quarterly course schedules (studio blocks meet for 2 hours and 45 minutes, twice a week, M/W, TU/TH).
