Position Title: Financial Operations Associate

Department: MN Business Operations

Reports To: Local Regional Manager

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Compensation: $27.00 per hour


Role Summary & Key Responsibilities:

The Financial Operations Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring that all residential financial tasks are executed with precision, thoroughness, and punctuality. This role requires regular communication with various Operational Departments to facilitate seamless operations. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining resident financial records, including making necessary adjustments as required
  • Generating and distributing annual tax documentation such as Certificates of Rent Paid
  • Receiving, processing, and recording rent payments in ledgers, including assistance payments from county agencies
  • Drafting and sending notifications to clients regarding overdue payments, including late rent notices and collection efforts
  • Executing account write-offs as needed
  • Updating and recording lease charges during move-ins and renewals
  • Applying late fees to resident accounts as per policy
  • Adhering to month-end checklists to ensure all tasks are completed
  • Reviewing and approving invoices using available Accounts Payable software
  • Communicating effectively and promptly with internal departments
  • Assisting Business Operations Specialists in identifying procedural inefficiencies and suggesting improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations
  • Providing backup support for other members of the Business Operations Department as necessary
  • Carrying out additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the property management sector
  • Accounting certification or relevant experience is preferred

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong time management abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to communicate effectively with diverse individuals
  • Proficient in exercising sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to lead initiatives without formal authority
  • Competent in utilizing and adapting to various technology platforms
