The Patient Registrar plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely registration of patients. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills to verify insurance, explain policies, and collect necessary financial information from patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patient information and ensure accurate registration/billing data entry
  • Prepare and obtain required signatures on registration documents
  • Utilize patient accounting software to maintain accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with bed utilization to facilitate patient transfers
  • Train new employees on registration protocols and procedures
  • Verify insurance and authorizations using approved tools and resources
  • Review registrations for completeness and resolve any financial issues
  • Provide patient assistance with billing inquiries and transfers
  • Document payments, apply correct codes, and balance cash journals

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of relevant experience preferred
