Job Summary

Vanguard EMS, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Customer Focus Teams, this role will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of our manufacturing processes and delivering high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with customers on technical discussions, support inquiries, and provide timely feedback on product development.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve internal capabilities and lead projects to enhance processes, infrastructure, and equipment.
  • Design for Excellence (DFX): Drive DFX initiatives with data captured from process development, NPI builds, and internal knowledge bases to ensure effective communication with customers.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all customer and regulatory requirements are met throughout Vanguard's processes.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead Root Cause and Corrective Actions for defects, yield improvement, and escapes.
  • Manufacturing Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and drive action from manufacturing data to inform process improvements.
  • Documentation: Create, coordinate, review, and approve internal product documentation.
  • Supply Chain Management: Support resolving supply chain and electronics piece part issues.
  • Tooling and Equipment: Identify tooling, fixturing, and equipment requirements and lead the design, procurement, and validation.
  • Risk Management: Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks using FMEA or equivalent tools.
  • Technical Training: Provide hands-on support during NPI and Pilot builds and provide technical training to technicians and operators.
  • Process Optimization: Utilize Design of Experiments to establish new processes and drive improvements to existing ones.
Requirements
  • Education: Engineering Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Manufacturing, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years' experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • Skills: Customer service orientation, excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to navigate and interpret Electrical and Mechanical CAD/Drawings.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Deep knowledge of DFX for electronics assemblies and electro-mechanical assemblies, strong working knowledge of SMT & Through-Hole Soldering, and proficiency in business systems such as MES, PLM, ERP, MRB.
