Key Responsibilities:
At Corbin, we believe in fostering professional development through varied experiences. Our engineers are expected to be versatile and knowledgeable across all facets of electrical design. You will be directly supervised by a senior project engineer or project manager who will guide you towards success. Your daily tasks may include:

  • Designing electrical systems and producing construction documentation of varying complexities, including power, lighting, distribution systems, and installations for heat trace and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Executing instrumentation and control design, which encompasses selecting appropriate instruments for process systems, managing point databases, developing tagging nomenclature in collaboration with mechanical and chemical engineers, and designing new PLC panels and networking solutions.
  • Creating designs for additional low voltage systems, such as telecommunications, life safety, and security systems.
  • Conducting engineering assessments for power and low voltage systems, analyzing existing conditions, evaluating capacities, and recommending necessary corrections and upgrades.
  • Performing short circuit and arc flash analyses, coordinating overcurrent protective devices, and reviewing power quality and reliability.
  • Collaborating with other engineering professionals across various technical disciplines.
  • Engaging in technical writing for engineering documentation.
  • Carrying out site investigations to verify and document field conditions.

At Corbin, we support our clients throughout the entire design process, from initial concepts to construction completion and project handover. The construction documents we create are integral to the project, and you will frequently interact with clients and contractors during the construction and commissioning phases.

Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive compensation package within the engineering consulting sector, which includes:

  • A salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Corporate-sponsored medical and dental insurance plans.
  • Participation in our 401(k) plan with company matching.
  • Involvement in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), allowing for benefits of company ownership through stock accumulation in a tax-deferred retirement account.
  • Three weeks of Personal Time Off (PTO) and eight paid holidays annually.
  • Up to $3000 per year in tuition reimbursement for relevant coursework.
  • Long-term disability insurance coverage.
  • Opportunities for professional development, including seminars with industry experts.

Candidate Expectations:
This position is suitable for mid-level applicants holding a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). We seek candidates who:

  • Have 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate dedication and commitment to completing tasks efficiently and punctually.
  • Are eager for professional growth.
  • Possess the ability to learn quickly and work independently.
  • Are team-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Possess a BSEE or equivalent experience; EIT certification or PE registration is a plus but not mandatory.

We encourage you to highlight any relevant skills, such as proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit, or experience with electrical system modeling software like SKM or EasyPower. Please also include any past work or volunteer experiences, even if they are not engineering-related.
