Position Overview:
In this role, you will conduct specialized laboratory testing to assess hemostasis, thrombosis, hemoglobinopathies, and body fluids. You will collaborate closely with Hematopathologists to deliver comprehensive care for complex medical conditions.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Executing and interpreting tests across all complexity levels.
  • Correlating abnormal laboratory findings with clinical conditions.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of test results and determining the necessity for additional testing through quality control measures.
  • Communicating test outcomes, reference ranges, and specimen requirements to authorized personnel.

The Ideal Candidate:
We seek a candidate who:

  • Possesses a solid understanding of laboratory testing theories and scientific principles.
  • Holds a bachelor's or associate degree in medical laboratory science or a related field.
  • Has prior exposure to hematology principles or experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cell identification and coagulation.
  • Exhibits self-motivation and professionalism in a collaborative team environment.

Essential Duties:
Responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to laboratory protocols for specimen handling, testing, and record maintenance.
  • Conducting laboratory tests in compliance with established standards.
  • Maintaining knowledge of regulatory requirements related to laboratory operations.
  • Documenting quality control activities and ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Participating in continuing education and professional development initiatives.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field or meet CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or eligibility for certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires:

  • Visual acuity for specimen analysis.
  • Ability to differentiate colors and tones.
  • Fine motor skills for handling specimens and laboratory equipment.
  • Compliance with safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment.
