Department Overview
The Electric Operations division is dedicated to providing safe and dependable electric service to our clientele. This sector oversees all facets of electric distribution and transmission, encompassing planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, asset management, business planning, and emergency response.
Position Summary
This role is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1245, which has a long-standing history of advocating for employees within the organization. This position is subject to collective bargaining agreements.
The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver administrative assistance to the Supervisor of Clerical Services. Additional duties may include providing temporary coverage for General Construction or Maintenance teams. Responsibilities may encompass payroll processing, lodging arrangements, personal expense management, material ordering and delivery to work sites, meeting scheduling, and various paperwork handling.
The Field Operations Administrative Assistant is classified under General Construction Title 300. Candidates must be prepared to travel and relocate to different headquarters as needed, including during emergency situations; this may involve working in adverse weather conditions and at remote locations. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
Compensation Information
PG&E is offering a competitive hourly rate range for this position, reflective of the local job market. The actual hourly rate will be determined based on various factors such as skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The starting hourly rate range for this role is between $38.54 and $54.57, subject to collective bargaining adjustments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to the Supervisor of Clerical Services.
- Prepare and submit expense reports with appropriate documentation.
- Verify time card accuracy and input data into the payroll system.
- Order and deliver materials and office supplies as required.
- Review and process department invoices for accuracy.
- Manage interoffice mail distribution.
- Assist in generating job packages for construction crews.
- Maintain records of safety and training information.
- Support the department supervisor with administrative tasks.
- Assist employees with various administrative needs.
- Participate in emergency response efforts as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid California Driver's License required on the first day of employment.
- Ability to drive safely in all weather conditions.
- Capability to work in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel and relocate as necessary.
- Ability to lift and carry 25-50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights and weekends.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Forklift certification.
- Experience with data entry.
- Familiarity with SAP and Ariba systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with payroll and expense reporting systems.
- Relevant experience within PG&E or the utility sector.
