Position: Systems Reliability Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze reliability challenges and conduct investigations to identify the necessary reliability strategies.
  • Evaluate cost benefits of different alternatives.
  • Create action plans that align with customer requirements for reliability processes and equipment to prevent failures and enhance reliability and availability.
  • Utilize DoD 5000 guidelines to formulate analysis techniques for assessing the reliability of components, equipment, and processes related to submarines and submarine systems.
  • Execute comprehensive reliability studies and calculations pertaining to component and system reliability.
  • Plan and conduct engineering research, design development, or manufacturing/process engineering tasks, assuming responsibility for significant sections of complex projects while adhering to reliability principles.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Secret DoD clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of engineering experience.
  • At least five (5) years of dedicated experience in reliability engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with DoD 5000, active-duty Navy, and/or Navy acquisition is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Engineering experience specifically related to undersea warfare systems and/or combat systems.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying information effectively to all levels of stakeholders.
  • Adept at problem-solving in both independent and collaborative settings.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

Work Environment:

Physical Requirements:

Work Schedule:

The standard workday is eight hours, with some flexibility permitted upon supervisor approval. Employees are expected to be available during core hours.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel of up to 10% may be necessary.
