Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Operations Specialist to join our team at Foundation Health Services. This is a critical role that requires advanced knowledge of plant operations, mechanical maintenance, and infrastructure systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Plant Systems: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of power plant and facility utilities equipment and systems, including steam/hot water boilers, centrifugal/reciprocating chillers, and cooling towers.
  • Coordinate Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all utility and infrastructure systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, medical gas systems, water treatment programs, water distribution systems, building management systems, emergency generators, and associated components.
  • Monitor and Modify Infrastructure Systems: Continuously monitor and modify the infrastructure and utility preventive maintenance program to ensure maximum effectiveness and maintain the integrity and reliability of the utility distribution systems.
  • Work with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with other divisions and departments to meet the facility infrastructure and utility maintenance, installation, and construction needs, including negotiating priorities, planning work schedules, and job assignments.
  • Respond to Emergency Calls: Respond to assigned general maintenance and emergency calls, including clearing clogged drains, repairing leaks and drips, bed/crib/wheelchair delivery, jumpstarting/tire inflation of staff vehicles, pressurized medical gas delivery, and other tasks as required.
  • Provide Training and Guidance: Instruct personnel regarding infrastructure and utility hazards to ensure the safe operation and use of equipment, provide guidance, direction, and oversight for infrastructure and utility training, and coordinate infrastructure and utility system parts, materials, and supplies within budgetary constraints.
Requirements
  • Advanced Knowledge of Plant Operations: Requires three or more years of diversified work experience as a plant mechanic, stationary engineer, boiler operator, or refrigeration mechanic, and the ability to demonstrate advanced skills in the field of plant operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Must have current Boiler Operators License if required by the state in which employed or applicable Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and working knowledge and certification as required of applicable regulatory codes and State and local building codes.
  • Effective Communication: Must be proficient in reading and understanding related and required maintenance and construction documents, and effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Must be able to exercise independent decision making and judgment in the performance of all duties, and work safely and effectively with infrastructure and utility equipment.
