Job Summary

As an Automotive Service Manager at Don Johnson Auto Group, you will be responsible for leading our service department to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive business growth. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing outstanding service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to drive service department growth and profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of technicians and service advisors to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality repairs.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Productivity Oversight: Monitor and manage technician productivity and payroll records to optimize efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Review and approve all repair orders to ensure accuracy and adherence to expectations.
  • Guest Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Service Excellence: Ensure the highest quality of service repairs to eliminate comebacks and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the service department and waiting areas.
  • Industry Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for factory representatives to ensure a productive partnership.
Requirements
  • Experience and Education: Minimum of 5 years in automotive service management and a Bachelor's degree in Business, Automotive Technology, or related field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures and proficiency with diagnostic tools and service equipment.
  • Leadership and Management: Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team of technicians and service advisors.
  • Guest Service: Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and ability to handle customer concerns and resolve issues promptly.
  • Financial Acumen: Proficient in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control and experience with inventory management and parts ordering.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively present information to various stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with dealership management systems and service scheduling software and competency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and address technical and operational issues efficiently.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of automotive industry regulations and compliance standards and ability to ensure all service practices adhere to legal requirements.
  • Personal Attributes: High level of integrity and professional ethics and strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
