At Munis Self Service, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Emergency Communications Deputy Director. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Director and overseeing a team of 37 Telecommunicators, ensuring the efficient dispatching of Police, Fire, and EMS services for both 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls.
Key Responsibilities:- Proactively assist the Director with managerial, administrative, and project management duties to support PRCC staff and public safety operations.
- Supervise and monitor the work of Telecommunicators to determine compliance with State laws, Police, Fire & EMS dispatching procedures, productivity, and department standards.
- Lead with a strong moral character, be resilient in a stressful environment, and have proven emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
- Proven management and supervisory experience.
- Thorough understanding of PSAP operations and radio/telephone communications equipment.
- Must be able to obtain full certification by the State of Maine as an emergency telecommunicator and maintain these certifications.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or the combination of education and or work in the field of emergency communications.
- Strong IT, Project Management, and Computer Assisted Dispatch administration skill sets.
