Position Overview

The Engineering Project Lead (EPL) will oversee all facets of enhancing mining operations, from exploration and planning to production. This role requires collaboration with a diverse team of professionals to manage engineering initiatives. The EPL will also be instrumental in mentoring junior engineers, overseeing projects, and engaging in business development activities, which include identifying new opportunities, nurturing strategic partnerships, and contributing to the organization's long-term growth and sustainability.

The ideal candidate will manage both surface and underground projects for mining firms and assist in leading a team of engineers and geologists, while concurrently managing multiple projects and business development efforts. Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing proposals
  • Overseeing budgets and schedules
  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Building client relationships
  • Driving business growth
  • Ensuring seamless integration within a diverse multidisciplinary engineering team
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in geology, mining, geological, or civil engineering; an advanced degree in business administration is advantageous
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in mining aggregates, crushed stone, sand and gravel, cement, or consulting sectors
  • A registered professional engineer/professional geologist license or the ability to obtain one upon hire
  • At least 5 years of project management experience
  • Experience in leadership and team management
  • Proficiency in technical report writing
  • Resource and reserve experience in accordance with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's S-K 1300 regulation
  • Extensive experience with commercial mining engineering software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan, Carlson, Minesched, and GIS) and familiarity with programming skills (e.g., TCL, Lisp, Visual Basic, and other programming languages) is preferred.
