Crisis Intervention Specialist

This role is essential in addressing urgent mental health needs within the community. The Crisis Clinician collaborates with various partners to manage crisis situations effectively, focusing on individuals with limited financial resources who require support to stabilize in their environment. The primary aim is to divert individuals from emergency services and facilitate their integration into community resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Intake and Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations for individuals referred to the program, establishing tailored service goals and coordinating necessary resources.
- Case Management: Facilitate connections to community services, including counseling, medical resources, and vocational support, while working closely with other mental health professionals.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and brief counseling to clients in crisis, ensuring timely and effective responses to their needs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate clinical records and meet performance standards for documentation and billing.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in regular meetings to review cases and discuss service options for clients.
- Community Outreach: Engage with clients in various community settings to provide support and resources.
Qualifications
Education: A Master's degree in a relevant field such as psychology or social work is required, or a Bachelor's degree in nursing or occupational therapy with appropriate licensure.
Experience: At least one year of post-graduate experience in behavioral health is necessary.
Licensure: Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure as a clinical social worker or similar credentialing.
Additional Requirements
- Must obtain necessary certifications within the first month of employment.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history are required.
- Successful completion of a background check is mandatory.
Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of mental health principles and the ability to develop effective treatment plans. Excellent communication skills are essential for building relationships with clients and collaborating with team members. The candidate should be able to work independently and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
Work Environment
This position may involve working in various community settings and requires flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of clients. Regular attendance at team meetings and ongoing professional development is expected.
