This position is focused on providing essential support to individuals experiencing urgent mental health crises. The primary objective is to facilitate community stabilization and prevent unnecessary hospitalizations or incarceration.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations for all referrals to determine suitability for the BRES program. Establish service objectives tailored to each client's needs.
- Case Management: Connect clients with vital community resources, including mental health services, substance abuse programs, and vocational assistance. Work closely with local correctional facilities and behavioral health teams to explore alternatives to hospitalization.
- Crisis Counseling: Provide brief therapeutic interventions as necessary, ensuring outreach efforts are made in various community settings.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, adhering to performance standards for documentation and billing.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in regular meetings to review client cases and discuss service options.
- Group Facilitation: Lead mental health support groups for participants in community programs.
Applicants must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field such as psychology or social work, or a Bachelor's degree in nursing or occupational therapy with appropriate licensure. A minimum of one year of post-graduate experience in behavioral health is required. Preference will be given to candidates with LCSW or CSWA credentials.
Licensure Requirements
- Must obtain licensure as a Qualified Mental Health Professional within the first month of employment.
- Credentialing with Salem Hospital is required within six months of hire.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary for this role.
This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Tuesday through Friday. The role may involve flexibility in hours based on departmental needs. Candidates should be prepared for a variety of work environments and potential exposure to challenging situations.
