About the Role

Friedman Vartolo LLP, a rapidly growing New York-based real estate and default services law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join its dynamic team. This critical role will be instrumental in overseeing financial operations, providing strategic guidance through data-driven insights, and ensuring effective financial management to support the firm's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Present findings to senior management to facilitate informed business decisions.
  • Financial Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and unbilled time. Analyze inventory trends and recommend adjustments to optimize cash flow and minimize financial risks.
  • Strategic Financial Guidance: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and efficiency gains.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain comprehensive budgets and forecasts aligned with the firm's strategic goals. Monitor variances and provide actionable insights for management decision-making.
  • Financial Modeling and Scenario Analysis: Utilize financial modeling and scenario analysis to provide insights into potential outcomes and risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Serve as the primary point of contact with external accountants and internal compliance team for audits, tax preparation, and regulatory compliance. Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data.
  • Financial Systems and Tools: Maintain and optimize financial systems and tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy. Implement best practices for data integrity and security.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the finance team and other departments to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to financial management and reporting.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Proven experience (2+ years) as a Financial Analyst or similar role, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and accounting systems; experience with Excel, Quickbooks, and SQL
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines
