Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team at Washington University. The successful candidate will assist with research studies, experiments, and data analysis, and will work closely with our team to advance our understanding of the vertebrate visual system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research experiments and assays, and analyze data to inform research findings.
  • Evaluate research results, report findings, and discuss project outcomes with staff involved.
  • Perform data entry and maintain data files on research, and coordinate tissue cultures, reagents, and probe tests.
  • Comply with established safety procedures and maintain required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
  • Coordinate research project with other institutions and investigators, and participate in developing hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing them.
  • Assist with general supply/equipment orders, lab maintenance, and cleaning, and perform literature research on specified topics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, and work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Laboratory Operations (2 Years) experience preferred.
  • Document Research, Laboratory Processes, and Scientific Research skills preferred.
