Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Electrical Designer to create and execute electrical systems for solar and energy storage initiatives. This position entails the design and enhancement of electrical systems, oversight of project budgets and schedules, and upholding exceptional quality standards. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with diverse engineering teams throughout both the design and construction stages.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design & Engineering: Develop comprehensive designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and energy storage solutions, encompassing system layout, equipment selection, and infrastructure planning. Conduct AC/DC sizing calculations.
  • Project Oversight: Manage electrical design across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary and scheduling constraints. Supervise utility-scale solar and storage initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Work in conjunction with civil, structural, and other engineering disciplines to integrate designs effectively. Ensure smooth project execution.
  • Quality Control: Perform electrical calculations and assessments, maintain high design quality, and ensure rigorous quality assurance processes.
  • Industry Knowledge: Remain informed about the latest equipment and best practices in the renewable energy field. Implement industry innovations into project designs.
  • Construction Assistance: Respond to inquiries from contractors and clients, engage in site evaluations, and review construction documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5-7 years in electrical design within the renewable energy sector, particularly in solar and energy storage.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent software, MS Office, and familiarity with electrical construction methodologies. Experience with utility-scale PV projects and battery energy storage systems (BESS) is advantageous.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for effective collaboration with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Project Management Skills: Capability to manage project scope, timelines, and budgets. Strong analytical skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team Collaboration: A proactive, self-driven individual who can work independently with minimal oversight.
