Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to create and implement electrical systems for solar and energy storage initiatives. This position entails designing and refining electrical systems, overseeing project budgets and schedules, and upholding exceptional quality standards. You will collaborate closely with various engineering teams, supporting both the design and construction phases of projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design & Engineering: Develop comprehensive designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and energy storage solutions, including system layouts, hardware selection, and infrastructure design. Execute AC/DC sizing calculations.
  • Project Oversight: Manage electrical design across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary and scheduling constraints. Supervise utility-scale solar and storage projects.
  • Collaboration: Work in conjunction with civil, structural, and other engineering disciplines to integrate designs seamlessly. Ensure effective project execution.
  • Quality Control: Perform electrical calculations and analyses, maintain high design standards, and implement quality assurance measures.
  • Industry Knowledge: Remain informed about the latest equipment and best practices in renewable energy. Incorporate industry advancements into project designs.
  • Construction Assistance: Address inquiries from contractors and clients, participate in site assessments, and review construction documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5-7 years in electrical design within the renewable energy field, particularly in solar and energy storage.
  • Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software, MS Office, and knowledgeable about electrical construction methodologies. Experience with utility-scale PV projects and battery energy storage systems (BESS) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective engagement with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Capable of managing project scope, timelines, and budgets. Strong analytical skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Team Collaboration: A collaborative spirit, self-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
