We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our solar systems design team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the design and development of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage and coordinate the work of electrical engineering teams, including design, construction, and testing of solar energy projects.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project risks and ensure timely delivery.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, utilities, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement electrical engineering standards and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure Westwood's solar energy projects remain competitive and compliant.
- 4-year Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- Electrical PE License or ability to obtain in multiple states.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in solar energy project management, design, and development.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery, with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in electrical power system modeling software, such as ETAP, DiGSILENT PowerFactory, or PSS/E.
- Experience with energy storage systems, SCADA systems, and PV production modeling software a plus.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Alternative Energy Engineering, or related field.
- NABCEP Certification.
- Experience working with EPCs, developers, and construction contractors in the renewable energy sector.
