This position requires effective collaboration with various engineering teams to ensure the successful delivery of utility-scale projects.

  • Position offers a hybrid work schedule.
  • Estimated duration: 12-month contract with potential for permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the electrical design for a variety of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Develop and evaluate design outputs such as one-line diagrams, collection system layouts, power cable sizing, cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of electrical apparatus including switchgear, transformers, panel boards, breakers, relays, inverters, batteries, chargers, disconnect switches, surge arrestors, and various cable types.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and studies, including load flow, short circuit analysis, arc flash analysis, cable ampacity studies, grounding analysis, and voltage drop calculations using software tools like ETAP, SKM, CYMCAP, and WinIGS.
  • Prepare and review technical sections of RFPs and contract documentation.
  • Support project estimation by creating preliminary designs for new initiatives.
  • Review vendor equipment submissions to ensure alignment with company and client standards.
  • Verify work instructions for compliance with industry and client regulations.
  • Oversee supplier activities on construction sites to ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Guide the installation and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Ensure projects comply with federal, state, local, and company engineering standards.
  • Conduct site visits during pre-construction and construction phases to address project requirements.
  • Analyze test results of electrical installations and equipment.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight.

Required Qualifications:

  • Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering license in at least one US state.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering utility-scale solar, BESS, and wind projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, ETAP, CYMCAP, WinIGS, and PVsyst engineering software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in office software such as Word and Excel.
  • Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering plans.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of applying professional knowledge to both routine and complex tasks.
