Role Summary:


Join our team and play a crucial role in enhancing the financial stability of our organization by evaluating and underwriting crop insurance policies. This position ensures adherence to the Federal Crop Insurance Program regulations and internal policies related to crop hail and named peril insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize underwriting expertise to assess, analyze, and price crop insurance applications while complying with company guidelines and relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Guarantee thorough and precise processing of policies by reviewing applications, policy amendments, actual production history (APH), acreage reports (AR), and ensuring all necessary information is collected and discrepancies resolved.
  • Generate status reports and monitor the policy lifecycle to ensure timely completion and avoid penalties.
  • Support claims and compliance teams by executing transactions within your designated responsibilities.
  • Examine all written agreements prior to submission for accuracy.
  • Oversee the tracking and routing of written agreements to facilitate prompt processing.
  • Address errors and resolve issues highlighted in the FCIC Error Report.
  • Respond effectively to inquiries regarding crop hail insurance from key stakeholders.
  • Assist colleagues with inquiries and provide training as needed.

  • Leverage various resources to research and address crop insurance inquiries.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance your knowledge of crop insurance.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Proficient in utilizing multiple resources to gather and analyze information for underwriting basic risk exposures.

Preferred Education:

  • Associate's Degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in underwriting roles.
  • Background in the insurance industry.
  • Specific experience in crop insurance.
Preferred Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with crop insurance industry practices and underwriting policies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Easy Mapping, Easy Hail, On Base, and workflow systems.
  • Understanding of common computer and communication technologies.
