Salary
Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.
You will assume a senior-level position that enhances MGA underwriting operations. This role may transition between expert underwriting and risk assessment or project initiatives aimed at optimizing the efficiency of the underwriting operations. You will be responsible for developing metrics and analyzing data to provide recommendations that influence profitability trends. This level may also cater to field underwriters with direct exposure to clients and agents. You will report to the Senior Manager of Insurance Operations.
In this flexible office/home arrangement, you will be required to work a minimum of 10 days per month from designated office locations.
Relocation Support Offered for Eligible Candidates
Risk Analysis (70%):
+ You will assess information and exposures related to complex risks for third-party insurance carriers. Your evaluation will focus on risk characteristics and trends to ensure appropriate coverage selection and pricing.
+ Utilizing risk characteristics and trends, you will guide individual risk pricing, coverage options, terms, and conditions.
+ You will analyze claims and loss history, determining suitable actions for individual accounts or programs.
B&A Binding Authority Research and Best Practices (20%):
+ You will provide ongoing underwriting performance insights to the B&A Insurance Solutions management team.
+ As the expert resource within B&A Insurance Solutions, you will focus on data integration, interpretation, and presentation.
+ You will leverage your extensive knowledge of surplus lines and markets to identify trends and factors affecting profitability and growth, influencing actions of leadership and insurance carrier partners.
+ Collaborating with divisional leadership, you will develop management and executive-level reports and presentations.
+ You will implement both long-term and short-term strategies for the creation, maintenance, enhancement, and replacement of risk pricing, terms, and conditions.
Industry Research & Relationship Management (10%):
+ You will cultivate positive business relationships with colleagues, agents, and carriers.
+ You will stay informed about industry and competitor activities by participating in industry events and building relationships with peers.
+ Serving as a resource for the field force and sales management, you will utilize your business relationships and insights to propose new product ideas for distribution models with carrier partners.
Qualifications:
+ Underwriting experience in specialty lines or commercial.
+ Comprehensive understanding of surplus and specialty insurance.
+ Experience with Excess & Surplus lines.
+ Familiarity with agency management systems.
