This senior-level position supports MGA underwriting operations, focusing on expert underwriting and risk evaluation or project work that enhances underwriting efficiency. The successful candidate will develop metrics and analyze information to make recommendations impacting profitability trends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate complex risks for third-party insurance carriers, assessing risk characteristics and trends for coverage and pricing selection.
  • Analyze claims and loss history, taking into consideration individual account, program, or territory actions.
  • Provide underwriting performance expertise and perspective to B&A Insurance Solutions management team.
  • Develop and implement long-term and short-term strategies for risk pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with coworkers, agents, and carriers, staying informed about industry and competitor activities.
Requirements
  • Underwriting experience in specialty lines or commercial insurance.
  • Understanding of surplus and specialty insurance.
  • Excess & Surplus lines experience.
  • Agency management system experience.
