Job Summary:
The Sales Coordinator plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive administrative support to the Sales Department. Responsibilities include managing sales orders, maintaining customer records, and processing return authorizations. This position requires regular interaction with both internal teams and external clients to facilitate the sales process and uphold strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle initial customer inquiries via phone, providing essential information and directing calls to the appropriate sales personnel.
- Efficiently process sales orders, return material authorizations, credit requests, and advance payment invoices.
- Collaborate closely with the Credit, Production, and Shipping Departments to ensure exceptional service and timely deliveries.
- Monitor quotation activities, including status updates and success rates, and work with the Field Sales Engineer to gather insights on lost quotes.
- Keep track of open orders and backlogs to assist with customer updates.
- Support the Sales Manager and Credit Department in resolving short remittance and non-payment issues.
- Gather necessary information for new account setups, ensuring accurate entry into the customer master file.
- Assist in company sales events, client meetings, and overall customer communications.
- Contribute to special projects by providing required information or data entry support.
- Serve as a backup for the company receptionist when necessary, including answering general calls and welcoming visitors.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of one year of sales experience, ideally in a technical setting. A college degree is advantageous.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and comfortable with learning new technologies.
- Familiarity with Epicor Vantage or similar CRM systems is beneficial.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven sales environment.
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, ensuring efficient operations within the Sales Office.
- Strong proofreading capabilities along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively within a team.
Compensation: $22 to $26/hour.
