Role: Behavior Technician

Compensation: $22 - $28 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Employment Type: Full Time & Part Time (subject to assignment)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, aligned with the local school district calendar.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma and/or some college coursework (preferred).

Essential Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and dependable transportation is essential.
  • Proficient in English, with strong skills in grammar, spelling, and reading comprehension.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Physically capable of engaging actively in classroom and playground activities.
  • Prior experience working with children is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute behavior intervention strategies as designed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Behavior Specialist, focusing on specific behavioral objectives outlined in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide direct assistance to students with behavioral difficulties, implementing interventions and strategies as specified in their BIPs across various educational environments.
  • Employ positive behavior support methods and reinforcement techniques to teach alternative behaviors, social skills, and coping mechanisms to students.
  • Gather and analyze data on student behavior and progress, utilizing behavior tracking systems to assess the effectiveness of interventions and inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with educational staff, including teachers and support personnel, to establish a unified support framework for students with behavioral needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with the BCBA/Behavior Specialist regarding student progress and behavioral concerns.
  • Engage in team meetings and student support discussions as necessary, contributing to the formulation and evaluation of behavior intervention plans.
  • Uphold confidentiality of student information and adhere to ethical standards in behavior intervention practices.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience with students exhibiting behavioral challenges, ideally in educational, home, or clinical settings.
  • Completion of training in behavior intervention techniques is advantageous.
  • Understanding of behavioral principles and evidence-based strategies for behavior management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and follow guidance from supervising BCBA/Behavior Supervisor.
  • Dedication to promoting positive behavior support and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students.
