Position Overview:
The Senior Registration Coordinator acts as a pivotal resource for the registration and financial counseling teams, exemplifying leadership and striving to achieve departmental objectives under the guidance of the Registration and Financial Counselor Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
This role requires exceptional skills in registration and financial counseling. The Coordinator is responsible for executing all tasks related to patient registration, preregistration, account auditing, and financial counseling for both inpatients and outpatients. This includes efficiently and accurately securing and calculating upfront collections, such as co-pays and co-insurance, ensuring that the needs of patients, physicians, and the healthcare facility are met.

Role Model:
The Coordinator serves as a role model within the department and across the organization, consistently embodying the Patient First vision in their actions, behavior, and decision-making processes.

Certification:
Maintaining the AAHAM Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) Certification is essential.

Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of PIH Health's mission and values
- Proven leadership and organizational capabilities
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively interact with staff, patients, insurance companies, and physicians
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong mathematical skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Bilingual skills are preferred
- Flexibility to adapt to changing responsibilities and challenges

Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of two years in hospital registration/admitting
- Minimum of two years in financial counseling, insurance verification, or medical billing
- High school diploma or equivalent required; preference for continuing education evidence
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
