Job Title: EHS Specialist

At Synectics, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EHS Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, customers, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on health, safety, and environmental procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain safety data sheets (SDS) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with government officials and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain health, safety, and environmental metrics and reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, and Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of OHS and environmental government legislation and codes.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software (MS Office).
  • Key leadership competencies, including ability to create partnerships, decision making, teamwork, culture ambassador.
  • Union experience.
  • Experience working on a production floor and working with different teams.
