Role Responsibilities:
As the inaugural EHS Manager, you will spearhead the establishment and enhancement of EHS protocols across the organization.
Your role will involve utilizing human and organizational principles to foster a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility, emphasizing engagement and proactive problem-solving.
You will be tasked with developing, implementing, and continuously refining programs within the EHS Management System framework, ensuring adherence to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Key Duties Include:
- Overseeing environmental health and safety initiatives company-wide.
- Leading a team to establish and enhance EHS processes related to battery manufacturing and testing.
- Analyzing incident data to identify trends and implement improvement projects aimed at minimizing injuries and environmental impacts.
- Conducting thorough incident investigations with a focus on root cause analysis to implement effective preventative measures.
- Ensuring the effective application of EHS Management System elements throughout Operations & Engineering.
- Reviewing research materials for compliance with air and water regulations, as well as employee safety standards.
- Providing feedback on EHS impacts related to equipment and space designs, including industrial hygiene and fire safety.
- Coaching and mentoring EHS team members to foster a safety-first culture.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Physical Sciences, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
Additionally, candidates should have:
- 3 years of experience managing a team.
- 7+ years of experience in environmental, health, or safety roles.
- Experience in leading EHS program development and training across various organizational levels.
- Knowledge of compliance with International Building and Fire Codes.
- Expertise in process design and validation, as well as risk assessment methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
