Work Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift

The Community You Will Serve:

  • Our flagship facility is a 1,368-bed hospital located in a beautiful tropical setting.
  • We serve as a key tertiary care center for a wide region, including the Southeast, the Caribbean, and South America.
  • Our hospital features one of the largest Emergency Departments and cardiac catheterization labs in the nation.
  • We are recognized as one of the busiest hospitals, providing exceptional service to over 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients annually.

Your Role:

As a surgical scrub technician/nurse, you will assist in patient care during surgical procedures by performing technical and delegated tasks. You will work as part of the surgical team, providing care to patients across various age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. Compliance with AdventHealth's Corporate Compliance Plan and adherence to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations is essential. You will actively engage in delivering outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with all stakeholders.

Your Contributions to the Team:

  • Actively anticipate the surgeon's needs and keep the circulating nurse informed throughout the procedure, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready.
  • Innovate to uphold high standards and quality while promoting cost efficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining safe and timely operating room turnover, guiding ancillary staff as needed.
  • Provide supervision and training to other healthcare team members in the surgical setting.
  • Ensure a safe environment by responding appropriately to emergencies and managing potential hazards.
  • Adhere to CDC isolation protocols, utilize personal protective equipment, and maintain strict infection control practices.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives and support departmental quality standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with physicians, management, and staff, addressing any concerns promptly.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech Program
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience as an Orthopedic Surgical Technician.
