Your Role:
As a surgical scrub technician/nurse, you will assist in patient care during surgical procedures by performing technical and delegated tasks under general supervision. You will be an integral part of the surgical team, providing care to patients across various age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. You will adhere to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable regulations, actively participating in outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships with all.
Your Contributions to the Team:
+ Anticipate the surgeon's needs as a surgical scrub, ensuring the circulating nurse is informed throughout the procedure.
+ Maintain high standards of quality and efficiency, focusing on cost savings and containment.
+ Assist the team with safe and efficient operating room turnover times, directing ancillary personnel as needed.
+ Provide guidance and support to other healthcare team members in the surgical setting, utilizing your knowledge to assist in training and orientation.
+ Promote a safe environment by taking appropriate actions in emergencies and identifying potential hazards.
+ Adhere to CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE appropriately, and follow strict infection control practices.
+ Engage in performance improvement activities and support departmental quality initiatives.
+ Foster positive relationships with physicians, management, and staff while addressing any complaints promptly.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
+ Completion of a Surgical Tech Program
+ Certified Surgical Tech (CST)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred Education and Experience:
+ Experience as an Orthopedic Surgical Technician.
