Position Overview:
This role involves supporting patient care during surgical procedures by performing technical duties under general supervision. As a vital member of the surgical team, the surgical scrub technician provides care to patients across various age groups, adhering to established standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain communication with the circulating nurse throughout procedures.
- Prepare and assemble all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to surgery.
- Uphold high standards of quality and efficiency, contributing to cost containment and operational excellence.
- Assist in maintaining safe and effective operating room turnover times, directing ancillary staff as needed.
- Mentor and guide other healthcare team members in the surgical setting, facilitating training and orientation for new personnel.

Qualifications:
- For LPNs, a valid State of Florida license is required. Surgical technician certification is not mandatory.
- Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is preferred. Completion of an RN training program may be accepted in lieu of certification.
- BLS certification is required.
