The Community Mortgage Advisor is an entry-level role focused on enhancing mortgage sales and fostering client relationships through active engagement with community clients, diverse real estate professionals, and affordable housing non-profit organizations in collaboration with the Consumer Product Sales team. This position is primarily responsible for the promotion and sale of specific lending products directly to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Engage with clients to understand their financial circumstances, aspirations, and lending requirements to assist them in achieving their home ownership objectives.

+ Gather and evaluate data regarding the client's financial status, future plans, income, assets, liabilities, cash flow, and credit history.

+ Assess financial information to determine initial eligibility for various lending solutions.

+ Provide tailored recommendations to clients regarding the lending options that align with their financial and personal goals.

+ Educate clients on the implications, risks, and advantages of different lending alternatives.

+ Advocate for Citi's brand and position Citi as a premier provider of lending and financial solutions, including outreach to real estate agencies, builders, and other referral sources.

+ Conduct client meetings outside of Citi's offices, adjusting visits based on client needs, market conditions, and other relevant factors.

+ Collaborate with internal teams to support and expand our customer base.

+ Direct clients seeking services beyond lending to the appropriate Citi professionals.

+ Work alongside Operations teams to ensure smooth transitions of loan applications, providing necessary documentation to Processors and obtaining additional information as required.

+ Coordinate with Processors/Closers and clients to ensure timely loan closures.

+ Cultivate relationships with key referral sources (Realtors, CPAs, Builders, etc.) to drive mortgage business.

+ Evaluate risks in business decisions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and maintaining the integrity of Citigroup and its clients.

+ Introduce clients to relevant segment partners when appropriate.

+ Stay informed about local market trends and changes in industry regulations, expanding both internal and external networks to better serve clients and industry professionals.

+ Attend a minimum of 2-3 events per month focused on diverse realtors and affordable housing non-profits.

Qualifications:

+ 2-5 years of relevant experience.

+ Required experience in residential mortgage.

+ A minimum of 3 years of prior mortgage sales experience.

+ Established connections with diverse realtor organizations and affordable lending non-profits within the service area.

+ Familiarity with community loan products, including specialized LMI mortgage solutions and assistance programs.

+ A well-established book of business.

+ Preferred experience with FHA/VA and conventional loans.

+ Ability to understand and explain financial calculations and pricing options.

+ Proficiency in guiding clients on the necessary documentation for loan applications.

+ Knowledge of consumer lending laws and regulations, including fair lending and privacy standards.

+ Strong customer service skills.

+ Self-driven and capable of working independently.

+ Excellent relationship development and management skills.

+ Comprehensive understanding of general lending products and the mortgage industry.

+ This role requires registration as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.

+ Originate a minimum of 3 loans per month, ensuring at least 50% are either CRA eligible or within minority tracts.
