POSITION SUMMARY:


To graciously and efficiently present and serve food and beverages to patrons, adhering to Wyndham Visalia standards and local regulations while ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Warmly welcome, prepare, and serve drinks to guests in accordance with Wyndham Visalia beverage service protocols and local laws.
  • Set up workstations for optimal efficiency before and after each shift.
  • Adhere to all cash handling procedures and banking guidelines as directed by Wyndham Visalia.
  • Complete all assigned side work tasks as per the established schedules.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with Aloha POS system is advantageous.
Previous bartending experience is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience: A minimum of one year in a serving role is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong communication and hospitality skills (English proficiency required).
Ability to manage phone inquiries.
Competence in handling cash transactions.
Capacity to thrive in a dynamic and lively environment.

WORKPLACE CONDUCT:

  • Comply with payroll procedures (punch in/punch out) and adhere to the code of conduct as outlined in the Wyndham Visalia employee handbook.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all safety and security protocols to ensure a secure environment for both staff and guests.
  • Report any unusual incidents or requests to the immediate supervisor or manager on duty.
  • Read and comply with all regulations and guidelines specified in the employee handbook.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
None.

WORKING HOURS:
Availability for flexible day and evening shifts; scheduled hours will vary based on operational needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying:
100% - Carry trays weighing up to 20 lbs., along with silverware and setup items of similar weight.

Bending/Kneeling:
60% - Frequent bending and stretching to serve beverages and maintain cleanliness in work areas.

MOBILITY:
100% - Constant walking at a brisk pace throughout a variable environment.

STANDING:
Continuous standing is required for the entirety of the shift.

CLIMBING:
Occasional climbing of stairs (up to approximately 25 steps) may be necessary, accounting for about 40% of an 8-hour shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Indoors for 100% of the shift.

SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Hearing: Essential for effective communication with guests.
Vision: Critical for navigating between guests and tables.
Speech: Necessary for guest interactions.
Literacy: Required for taking orders accurately.

CHEMICALS/AGENTS:
Use of cleaning agents such as Sterno and Windex on a daily basis.

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
No protective clothing is required.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:
Utilization of coffee machines, toasters, and Aloha POS system as needed.
