Role Purpose

The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare meals according to established guidelines, employing safe food handling and preparation techniques to ensure quality and safety.


Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in food service.
  • Experience in both hospitality and senior living environments is preferred.
  • A strong commitment to exceptional customer service and a desire to exceed expectations.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively interpret menus and communicate with residents and team members.
  • Compliance with all health and food safety regulations as mandated by local and state authorities.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification is required.
  • Valid Food Handlers certification is necessary.
  • Annual Continuing Education Credits must be maintained.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Capability to prepare and understand cooking techniques for all menu items as directed.
  • Completion of pre-employment screenings, including physical and background checks, is mandatory.

Key ResponsibilitiesShift Leadership
  • Assist the Sous Chef in monitoring and documenting food temperatures throughout the shift in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Support the Director of Signature Dining and Sous Chef in ensuring effective meal preparation, service, and clean-up.
  • Maintain knowledge of current OSHA regulations and ensure compliance within the kitchen and food service operations.
  • Assist in training kitchen staff during shifts.
  • In the absence of the Director or Sous Chef, oversee and guide other food service team members.

Food Preparation
  • Adhere to production sheets, preparing only the specified amounts and items.
  • Follow recipes and procedures to meet Signature Dining standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared within designated standards, maintaining freshness and appropriate temperatures.
  • Present all dishes attractively in line with Signature Dining expectations.
  • Manage proper food storage, including labeling and dating items appropriately.
  • Utilize safe food handling techniques consistently.
  • Complete meal production records accurately and promptly.

Kitchen Sanitation
  • Ensure all work areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized before and after use.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces during the shift.
  • Follow deep cleaning schedules as assigned.

Additional Information
  • Attendance at team meetings and training sessions is required.
  • Adhere to Residents' Rights as per state regulations and company policy.
  • Support and uphold all company policies and service philosophy.
  • Reliable attendance is essential.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Working Conditions
  • Availability to work full-time or part-time, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
