Position Overview

Role Responsibilities:

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the development and execution of various HR initiatives, with a strong focus on talent acquisition and onboarding processes. Your responsibilities will also encompass employee relations, compliance, performance management, workers' compensation, employee engagement, training, unemployment, and the administration of diverse compensation and benefits programs.
  • Manage the recruitment and hiring process for designated positions from job requisition to onboarding, including updating job descriptions, sourcing strategies, screening, interview coordination, job offers, and conducting background checks.
  • Oversee the employee referral program.
  • Ensure that all new hires embody the best available talent and align with VBC's core values.
  • Collaborate with the Senior HR Business Partner to facilitate an effective onboarding experience.
  • Partner with business leaders and the Senior HR Business Partner on HR initiatives and projects to enhance business performance.
  • Provide daily guidance to employees on various HR matters and promote positive employee relations.
  • Implement and execute employee recognition and engagement programs.
  • Work with HRIS (ADP) and Payroll to ensure timely and accurate employee payroll and data management.
  • Manage and process Workers' Compensation, Unemployment claims, and leaves of absence in compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Assist with the local execution of performance reviews and benefit enrollment processes.
  • Collaborate with managers to address performance management challenges, offering guidance and support as needed.
  • Support the Senior HR Business Partner with additional HR projects and events.
Candidate Qualifications:

About You:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of generalist experience, preferably within the construction, engineering, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Extensive talent acquisition experience and a solid understanding of strategic and creative sourcing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is highly desirable.
  • Ability to think creatively with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong networking, social media, and internet research skills.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs.
  • Experience in building robust business relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
