JOB SUMMARY:
As a vital member of our team, you will assist with the daily operations of our healthcare facility. Your responsibilities will include administrative tasks such as filing, managing phone communications, patient registration, and coordinating referrals as necessary. Your role is crucial in ensuring that we deliver exceptional patient services through established protocols and a patient-centered approach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
COMMUNICATION
* Respond to phone inquiries and direct calls to the appropriate departments or initiate necessary triage procedures.
* Welcome and guide patients, visitors, and vendors with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring outstanding customer service.
* Manage incoming calls effectively, addressing patient requests and resolving complaints.
* Understand and explain insurance co-pays, deductibles, and related information accurately.
* Identify and rectify errors, complete necessary documentation, and maintain organized logs and files.
ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
* Register patients while ensuring their records are current and accurate.
* Input confidential health and financial information accurately into our systems, verifying insurance details as needed.
* Handle medical records requests, including photocopying and sending documents in compliance with legal standards.
* Schedule walk-in patients efficiently.
COMPLIANCE AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
* Adhere to federal and local regulations regarding patient privacy.
* Confirm the identity of patients and/or guardians.
FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS
* Collect patient payments, manage adjustments, and reconcile daily financial reports.
COLLABORATION
* Provide support across various departments as needed.
* Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the lead Patient Service Representative or the Director of Operations.
* Foster open communication and strong relationships with colleagues.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service by understanding and addressing patient needs.
Experience working with diverse patient populations.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve issues effectively.
Proficient data entry skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in names, numbers, and dates.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt work plans as necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
Required: Minimum of one year of experience in customer service.
Preferred: Experience in a healthcare setting and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records Systems.
