Job Overview

Position Title: Student Records Administrator

Location: Shreveport Job Corps Center

Reports To: Records Supervisor

The Student Records Administrator role is essential in supporting a contractor for the U.S. Department of Labor's Job Corps program, a federally-funded initiative aimed at providing comprehensive training and job placement assistance to eligible youth aged 16-24.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Generate and uphold data files and manual records for all students enrolled in the Job Corps program, ensuring compliance with governmental and organizational standards.
  • Maintain an accurate master file of all received reports.
  • Organize necessary documentation within each student's individual record, respecting privacy regulations.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data entered into the management information systems and student records.
  • Perform various clerical tasks related to student records, including typing correspondence, form letters, and accountability documents, while ensuring the department is well-stocked with necessary materials.
  • Input student attendance data into the management system, collaborating with various departmental managers.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for students, working closely with designated travel agencies and relevant departments to secure optimal travel plans.
  • Implement proper archiving procedures for records of students who have separated from the program.
  • Maintain accountability for students and their belongings, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Foster a respectful and harassment-free environment for both staff and students, promoting a safe learning atmosphere.
  • Encourage students to achieve career success standards through mentorship, skills monitoring, and appropriate behavioral interventions.
  • Adhere to all guidelines, policies, and procedures established by the Department of Labor/Job Corps and Human Learning Systems.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Completion of a one-year certificate program from a college or technical school; or one to two years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications:

  • Valid state driver's license.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications.
