Academic Records and Retention Specialist

Remington College is in search of a dedicated Academic Records and Retention Specialist.
We are looking for a driven individual with a background in student admissions, academic record management, or administrative support, who is passionate about fostering student success.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, verification, distribution, and secure storage of all official student academic records in compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations. This role also encompasses functions as a primary student advisor, creating avenues for student involvement and support, while delivering exceptional service to the student community. Responsibilities include monitoring attendance, assisting in notifying and advising students who are not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and advocating for student retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and operate within state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
- Develop, oversee, and modify campus course schedules.
- Assign faculty to courses and assist in monitoring class sizes.
- Coordinate schedules for hybrid and consortium classes.
- Facilitate new student registration and scheduling, ensuring eligibility criteria are met.
- Process and resolve documentation related to student records, graduation, and registration.
- Maintain and update comprehensive student records.
- Handle student transcript requests efficiently.
- Review Proof of Graduation documentation to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Assist students with administrative inquiries as necessary.
- Contribute to student communications, including newsletters and seminars.
- Monitor attendance and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) daily to identify at-risk students.
- Engage in outreach to at-risk and absent students to promote program success.
- Document student complaints or concerns and assist in their resolution.
- Advise students on academic success tools, including the student portal.
- Support other departments in student engagement initiatives.
- Facilitate the creation and support of student clubs and activities.
- Collaborate with campus leadership to enhance student services.
- Notify the Director of Campus Administration regarding accommodation requests for disabilities and assist in providing necessary documentation.
- Work with various stakeholders to improve student services.
- Coordinate with the College Head Registrar and Director on SAP appeal processes and ongoing student support documentation.
- Ensure timely completion of student and alumni surveys and compile data for review.
- Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
- Maintain professional relationships with all campus personnel.
- Conduct oneself in a manner that positively reflects the campus and the institution.
- Perform on-site duties as required, with remote work options available when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One to three months of relevant experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Service-oriented demeanor.
