Position Summary:

The Bureau of Data Technology and Strategy at Public Health Solutions is in search of a Project Coordination Specialist. This role involves overseeing and reporting on the progress of key Bureau initiatives, including the establishment of a centralized data platform. The specialist will also assist in organizing and managing Bureau events, meetings, and documentation. Familiarity with data governance, data science, data engineering, and product management is essential. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of data systems and their application in public health, thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

This position is situated within the Center for Population Health Data Science, which aims to enhance citywide health surveillance by effectively linking public health, healthcare, and social service data to improve the health outcomes of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily Bureau operations, including schedule management, meeting coordination, and workflow optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and timelines are achieved.
  • Develop and track performance metrics to assess progress towards Bureau goals.
  • Prepare briefing documents for high-level meetings, including data compilation, research, and presentation creation.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Bureau events that align with strategic objectives.
  • Create concise communication materials, including talking points and reports.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support new initiatives and policy development.
  • Facilitate communication between various offices and bureaus to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Master's degree in epidemiology, statistics, data science, or a related field.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and project management.
  • Ability to manage complex information and reporting.
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Proven ability to coordinate projects with multiple stakeholders.
