Position Summary:

The Bureau of Data Technology and Strategy at Public Health Solutions is looking for a Project Coordination Specialist to oversee and report on progress related to key Bureau initiatives. This role involves the development and execution of a centralized data platform and the management of Bureau events, meetings, and documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of data governance, data science, data engineering, and product management, and will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This position is part of the Center for Population Health Data Science, which is committed to enhancing citywide population health surveillance by integrating public health, healthcare, and social service data to improve health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations within the Bureau, including scheduling, meeting coordination, and workflow optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and timelines are achieved.
  • Establish metrics for progress tracking and report on the achievement of Bureau objectives.
  • Prepare briefing materials for high-level meetings, including data compilation, research, and presentation creation.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Bureau events that align with strategic priorities.
  • Create concise reports and communication materials, including talking points and one-pagers.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support new initiatives and policy development.
  • Facilitate communication among colleagues across various offices to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Master's degree in epidemiology, statistics, data science, or a related field.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and project management.
  • Ability to manage complex information and report findings effectively.
  • Proficient in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Experience in coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Understanding of data management systems and processes.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of problem-solving in a collaborative setting.

  • Familiarity with health data and public health principles.
  • Experience in creating dashboards and data visualizations.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism.
