Position Overview:
The TGH Lead Youth Care Worker will act as a knowledgeable and supportive resource for all residential specialists, ensuring high-quality service delivery to all TGH residents and guests.

Leadership Responsibilities:
This role includes direct care coverage as necessary, while primarily focusing on the effective and efficient performance of Youth Care Workers in their daily responsibilities.

The Lead will consistently exemplify kindness, dignity, respect, and the core values of HopeTree Family Services, along with maintaining professional standards.

Key Duties:
The Lead will assist in the development and implementation of the daily activity schedule, support the daily operations of TGH, and contribute to a safe and welcoming environment.

Under the guidance of the TGH Program Manager, the Lead will help communicate any agency or program changes to all staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Human Services field is required, along with a minimum of six (6) months of experience working with youth and adolescents. A Master's Degree in a related field is preferred. Previous supervisory experience and QMHP-C certification through the Virginia Counseling Board are strongly preferred. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.

Work Schedule:
This position is structured for a 40-hour workweek (between 9 am and 9 pm) and may require additional hours or shifts due to staff absences, vacations, or open positions. Adjustments to the schedule may be mandatory, including a monthly on-call and weekend coverage schedule.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee daily operations of cottages, ensuring adequate staff and shift coverage, which may involve extended hours or schedule changes.
  • Encourage respectful communication and team cohesion among Youth Care Workers across shifts.
  • Ensure a safe and sanitary environment for residents and staff, overseeing housekeeping tasks during shifts.
  • Implement policies and procedures consistently through modeling, coaching, and teaching.
  • Support crisis intervention, respond to emergencies, and take necessary actions, including contacting emergency services while adhering to harm reduction and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Ensure timely and thorough completion of behavior tracking charts, progress notes, and incident reports during each shift.
  • Participate in promoting health and safety through medication administration assistance, audits, and attending medical appointments as assigned.
  • Train new hires and provide ongoing training to current Youth Care Workers.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $22.00 per hour

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in direct care with youth and adolescents: 1 year preferred.
  • Supervisory experience: 1 year preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Driver's License is required.
  • QMHP Certification is preferred.
