Job Title: Cost Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team. As a Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the company's product costs while continually analyzing cost of goods manufactured for US and international businesses, as well as inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform month, quarter, and year-end period closing processes.
  • Perform detailed analysis on inventory costs to assist in the development of standard costs and understanding of inventory variances.
  • Provide product costing for pricing and business decisions. Cost budget - working with department leaders to define detailed material, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Execute the standard cost update process on an annual basis.
  • Analyze results of inventory counts and their impact to the Income statement.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams including plant operations, procurement, and commercial groups.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of PPV, standard cost changes, volume/product mix.
  • Review work order transactions to identify costing errors and perform Root Cause Analyses.
  • Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audit as applicable.
  • Accept other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Complete training as identified by standard operating procedures and procedural work instructions.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures relating to confidential proprietary information (CPI) including, but not limited to, what is outlined in the Confidentiality and Non-Solicitation Agreement.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another business-related field.
  • 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (ERP) a plus.
  • Exact Max (MRP) a plus.
  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative, and social skills.
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges.
  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment.
  • Ability to work within a multi-national corporate environment with overseas subsidiaries.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Will be required to regularly sit for extended periods of time; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The environment is fast-paced; time-pressured and requires accuracy. Will be required to regularly multi-task between projects, move throughout the office building, and effectively communicate. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open office setting with some areas that may be louder at times; along with time spent on the production floor, where the environment can be louder due to equipment running.
  • Currently Finance is operating on a hybrid working model with time working remotely as well as in the St Paul office.
  • Some travel may be involved, both domestic and international.
