Position Title: Accounting and Cost Control Manager

Department: Finance

Reports To: Enterprise Controller

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Employment Type: Exempt Employee

Compensation: Salary with Benefits; includes an Incentive pay structure

Direct Reports: Lead a team of four professionals

Position Summary: The Accounting and Cost Control Manager is integral to managing the financial dimensions of manufacturing operations. This role demands a robust comprehension of manufacturing workflows, cost accounting methodologies, and the capability to convert financial data into strategic insights for organizational decision-making. Responsibilities include precise job costing, routine inventory assessments, budgeting, and production cost evaluations. Collaboration with the production team is essential to uphold critical financial metrics and provide guidance to the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess discrepancies between actual and standard costs utilizing ERP and job costing systems.
  • Engage with various departments to enhance cost control strategies and refine existing processes.
  • Evaluate production expenses and generate comprehensive cost reports.
  • Oversee BHR rates in partnership with the Production department.
  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for manufacturing activities in conjunction with the Operations team.
  • Assist in preparing the entity-level budget and conduct monthly cost center review meetings.
  • Supervise inventory assessments and the cycle count process.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.
  • Review monthly financial statements and reports for management analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience in Cost Accounting.
  • Familiarity with LabelTraxx and/or Radius is preferred.
  • Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of transaction flows in an integrated system.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office Suite.
  • Excellent time management capabilities.
  • Professional demeanor, adaptable, able to work independently, and a positive team contributor.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Proficient typing skills.
