Position Summary: The Accounting and Cost Control Manager is essential in managing the financial dimensions of manufacturing operations. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing workflows, cost accounting methodologies, and the capacity to convert financial metrics into actionable strategies for informed business decisions. Responsibilities include precise job costing, routine inventory assessments, budgeting, and production cost evaluations. Collaboration with the production team is vital to uphold key financial indicators such as BHR rates while providing guidance to the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate discrepancies between actual and standard costs utilizing ERP and job costing systems.
- Engage with various departments to enhance cost control practices and refine existing processes.
- Assess production expenses and generate comprehensive cost reports.
- Supervise BHR rates in partnership with the Production department.
- Develop and oversee budgets and forecasts for manufacturing activities in conjunction with the Operations team.
- Assist in formulating entity-level budgets and conduct monthly cost center review meetings.
- Manage inventory assessments and the cycle count procedure.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and other pertinent accounting regulations.
- Review monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Identify avenues for cost reduction and process enhancement.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the essential duties outlined. The following qualifications are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in Cost Accounting.
- Familiarity with LabelTraxx and/or Radius is preferred.
- Master's degree is advantageous.
- Previous supervisory experience is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of transaction flows within an integrated system.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office Suite.
- Excellent time management capabilities.
- Professional demeanor, adaptable, capable of working independently, and a positive team contributor.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Proficient typing skills.
