Job Description

Applied Business Communications (ABcom), a frontrunner in critical infrastructure design and implementation, is on the lookout for Sales Account Managers dedicated to driving new business initiatives. In this role, you will be accountable for the promotion and sales of consulting services, engineering design, and the provision of products and labor necessary for constructing cabling, security, and wireless systems for both new and existing clients.

Objective of this Role: To enhance ABcom's market presence and expand its clientele, securing a leading position in the industry as the preferred provider of essential infrastructure solutions for data centers, hospitality sectors, and clients requiring continuous operational reliability across the nation. Your goal will be to achieve profitable sales that surpass your designated annual targets.

Position Scope: This role reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate new and existing accounts within your designated region through effective prospecting, networking, and solution-oriented selling.
  • Demonstrate the capability to secure a significant market share in your area, consistently achieving and exceeding revenue and profit margin targets.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Formulate business strategies that drive sales and profit margin objectives, including prospecting, account management, forecasting, and pipeline oversight.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposal presentations and responses to RFPs that address key business challenges and showcase our solutions.
  • Engage in effective networking with solution partners, consultants, and other professionals to maximize revenue opportunities and generate new business.
  • Utilize digital tools, social media, and collaborative platforms to connect and communicate with clients and prospects.
  • Enhance professional and technical expertise by participating in educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, and engaging with professional organizations.

Specific Duties:

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with assigned existing clients.
  • Generate new business opportunities through strategic networking and marketing efforts.
  • Lead collaborative efforts by coordinating resources from engineering and project management to meet client needs and ensure profitable sales.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction to foster ongoing business relationships.
  • Expand ABcom's client base and geographical reach, leveraging our national footprint.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Director of Sales or Vice President of Operations.

Collaborative Relationships: Work closely with the engineering team on design and bidding processes. Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to produce accurate material lists and cost estimates for upcoming projects. Ensure smooth transitions to operations for finalized sales and coordinate with project managers for effective client communication and timely, high-quality project delivery.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills:

Proven track record in successful sales within the technology sector (including computers, software, broadband, mobility, wireless, infrastructure, telecommunications, and data centers). Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine interest in understanding client needs and a commitment to achieving success.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Strong business acumen with analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to build and expand a client base.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in selling voice, data, wireless, and/or infrastructure products and services. Proven success in lead generation, account development, negotiation, and closing profitable deals.

Skills: Exceptional proposal writing and presentation abilities. Strong prospecting skills to secure meetings and introduce ABcom to potential clients. Self-motivated with the capacity to thrive in a collaborative environment.
