Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is crucial in overseeing financial documentation within our Deltek Costpoint-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, implementing cost accounting procedures, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Washington, DC, requiring in-office attendance 1-2 days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    Prepare financial statements in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), support the Annual Small Business Administration (SBA) Audit, and generate various accounting reports as needed.
  • Audits & Reconciliation:
    Provide audit assistance for Payroll, 401(k), Health Insurance, and other financial transactions, ensuring accurate month-end close and reconciliation reports.
  • Accounts Management:
    Oversee both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), manage revenue recognition, and maintain general ledger accuracy.
  • Project & Cost Management:
    Establish and maintain project records for various contract types, prepare biweekly journal entries, and assist in cost proposal pricing.
  • Process Improvement:
    Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for accounting practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience within a federal contracting environment.
  • Proficiency in creating reports using business intelligence tools.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and government contracting regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Deltek Costpoint.
  • Familiarity with DCAA audit support.
  • Experience in developing cost proposals.
