What you'll do:

The Central Credit Administration Group is a dynamic and high-performing team within Western Alliance Bank. The Credit Portfolio Risk Analyst will play a crucial role in delivering analytical and data-driven support concerning credit, concentration, and counterparty risk within our portfolio. This position encompasses both recurring responsibilities and project-based tasks, necessitating meticulous attention to detail. Success in this role hinges on a solid understanding of SQL, SSIS, and database principles, along with the capability to document and adhere to established procedures. A foundational understanding of banking concepts and a willingness to learn new technologies are essential.

What we are looking for:

Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of risk appetite measures, KPIs, and early warning indicators. Suggests enhancements to processes, secures approval, documents, and implements upgrades. Completes assigned projects, which may involve individual or team efforts, including acquiring new data sources (due to new products, business acquisitions, system implementations, etc.), defining/documenting transformations required for loading, writing load scripts, and conducting testing. Effectively applies technical expertise and software knowledge to tackle complex projects. Proficient or expert in the Microsoft suite of technologies, including Visual Studio and Management Studio. Manages a pipeline of data and process-related projects, identifying and escalating roadblocks while executing within designated timelines. Utilizes strong communication skills to keep managers, team members, and stakeholders informed of project statuses.

What you need to have:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Statistics, MIS, or a related field. 1-3+ years of technical experience with ETL, including expert or near-expert level SQL proficiency and proficiency with SSIS. Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel and Pivot Tables. 1-3+ years of experience in the Banking or Financial Services sector preferred. Progress toward CFA, CPA, CAIA, CFM, DBA, or other relevant designations preferred.

Benefits you'll love:
We provide competitive salaries, an ownership stake in the company, comprehensive medical and dental insurance, generous time off, an excellent 401k matching program, tuition assistance, an employee volunteer program, and a wellness initiative. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to enhance your business acumen, gaining insights into how successful organizations operate and manage their finances, providing invaluable hands-on experience to advance your career.
