Position Overview:
The Lease Credit Analyst I plays a crucial role in evaluating and managing credit risks associated with potential lease customers. This position involves analyzing credit histories and making informed decisions regarding credit extensions in alignment with SFS's risk management policies and profitability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and interpret credit reports and financial data to gauge the risk level of extending credit.
  • Foster and maintain robust relationships with dealers to ensure alignment with volume and credit quality targets.
  • Utilize sound judgment to manage exceptions to established credit authority, aiming for risk outcomes that meet company expectations.
  • Finalize decisions on credit applications or escalate to the appropriate authority for approval.
  • Communicate outcomes of lease applications to dealers through various channels and follow up to secure lease business.
  • Engage in negotiations regarding contract terms with dealers and internal stakeholders.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards due to access to sensitive consumer information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in auto finance or related fields, including customer service, collections, or loan processing.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in captive finance, automotive dealership operations, or loan underwriting is advantageous. Flexibility for overtime during peak periods may be required. Occasional travel may be necessary.
