Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced professional for the role of Assistant Director of Credit and Collections. This leadership position will oversee our Credit and Collections division, focusing on strategies to reduce financial risks and improve cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage credit screening and collections for our portfolio of multifamily properties.
  • Establish and monitor objectives for the collections team to meet company cash flow targets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address and resolve customer account delinquencies.
  • Create processes to reduce outstanding balances from current tenants, including communication strategies and legal actions.
  • Collaborate with leaders from various departments, including Finance, Revenue, and Legal, to enhance collection efforts:


•Work with Finance to project bad debt and assess potential customer defaults.

•Partner with Revenue to optimize credit screening practices for better cash flow.

•Coordinate with Legal to ensure compliance with necessary notices and eviction protocols.
  • Report on collection performance metrics and portfolio risks, providing insights for senior management.
  • Utilize and improve collection software, collaborating with IT to enhance collection processes.
  • Establish performance metrics for evaluating and developing the collections team.
  • Engage with external collection agencies to streamline processes and maximize recovery.


Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in credit and collections, ideally in the multifamily housing sector.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large data sets.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit and collections processes and strategies.
  • Proficiency in credit management software and the ability to assess new technologies.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software is a plus.
