Job Summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative III to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for facilitating patient access to our medical center and securing demographic and financial patient registration information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all admissions activities for pre-admit and face-to-face registration of patients presenting to our medical center
  • Obtain financial clearance and determine patient's correct financial classification
  • Perform insurance verification electronically, telephonically, or through other means
  • Perform proper system search to secure a medical record number or assign a new one without duplication
  • Perform proper selection of physician and recognize privileging issues
  • Interact with patients and perform job duties with sensitivity and attention to the patient population
  • Competent to independently handle routine and frequent inquiries from patients, patient representatives, and insurance companies
  • Demonstrate collection skills and meet or exceed cash collection goals
  • Interact with physicians and specialty departments to assure accurate intake of information required for registration and account adjustments
  • Compile reports upon request through all available resources
  • Clear RQI worklists daily and assist others when necessary

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Hospital Administration or equivalent preferred
  • Three (3) years of healthcare experience working in Patient Access or Revenue Cycle department, physician office, healthcare insurance company, and/or other revenue cycle related roles required
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred
